Privacy Policy for Watchman Apps

Effective date: September 14, 2026
Last updated: September 14, 2026
Applications covered: Watchman: Teen Driver and Watchman: Road Ready

Overview

SparkCrest Digital, LLC respects the privacy of parents, guardians, and teen drivers.

Watchman apps contain no third-party advertising, no advertising trackers, and no third-party analytics software. SparkCrest Digital does not sell or rent personal information.

Most information handled by the apps is stored on your Apple device. Watchman: Teen Driver may also use Apple's private iCloud and CloudKit services when they are available. The app remains fully usable without an iCloud account.

How syncing works, and what it does not do

This is the part most families get wrong, so it is first.

When you are signed into iCloud, Watchman: Teen Driver stores your records in your own private Apple CloudKit database. That means:

Records may take a moment to appear while iCloud synchronizes or restores. Let synchronization finish before recreating records that look missing.

Sharing progress between a parent's account and a teen's account is a planned feature that does not exist today. Nothing in the app transmits your data to another person's account.

Watchman: Teen Driver

Information you choose to store

The app stores what you enter, which may include:

You control what goes in. The app does not ask for or store a home address, and it does not store a photograph of the driver.

Documents and photographs

Documents you add may contain sensitive information — identification records, permit details, insurance and registration information, and information about a minor.

These files are stored inside the app and are included in your private iCloud synchronization when that service is available. They are never uploaded to SparkCrest Digital.

The document vault can be locked with Face ID, Touch ID, or your device passcode. Apple performs that authentication; the app is told only whether it succeeded and never receives biometric data of any kind.

You are responsible for protecting your devices, your Apple Account, any files you export, and anyone you choose to share a document or report with.

Vehicle identification number lookup

If you enter a VIN and ask for a lookup, the app sends that VIN to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's public vehicle-information service at vpic.nhtsa.dot.gov.

This is the only outbound network request in either app.

Camera and photo library

Both are optional and are requested only when you use the feature that needs them. The app cannot browse your library on its own.

Notifications

The app can schedule reminders for practice sessions, incomplete requirements, permit milestones, expiration dates, night-hour progress, and road-test preparation.

These are local notifications scheduled on your device. No push server is involved and no notification data leaves the phone. You can turn them off in the app or in iPhone Settings.

Exporting and sharing

You can create reports, backups, and document exports and send them through Apple's share sheet.

The app never transmits these to SparkCrest Digital. Once you send a file through Messages, Mail, AirDrop, Files, or any other service, that recipient or service controls the copy.

Review exported files before you send them. They may contain information about a minor.

Watchman: Road Ready

Information stored by the app

Road Ready stores a small amount of information on your device:

The entire course is bundled inside the app. Road Ready makes no network requests of any kind and works with no internet connection at all.

In-app purchases

The full-course unlock is an Apple in-app purchase, processed entirely through Apple's StoreKit system.

SparkCrest Digital never receives your payment-card number, your Apple Account password, or your Apple purchase credentials. Apple tells the app only whether a valid entitlement exists.

If Apple Family Sharing is enabled for the purchase, eligible family members gain access through Apple's systems. We are not told who they are and receive none of their payment information.

Teens and children

Watchman is built for parents, guardians, and teen drivers to use together.

SparkCrest Digital operates no server-based profile database for teen drivers, and does not use any teen's information for advertising, profiling, or behavioral tracking. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone of any age, because information entered in the app is not transmitted to us at all.

A parent or guardian should supervise setup, decide what personal information is entered, and review any document or report before it is shared.

To correct or remove information, edit or delete it inside the app. Removing the app removes the information stored on that device, though synchronized copies in your iCloud account, device backups, and anything you previously exported or sent to someone else will remain until you remove those too.

What SparkCrest Digital does not collect

Neither app collects, for SparkCrest Digital:

No third-party advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, or behavioral-tracking software is included in either app.

Retention and deletion

Information on your device stays there until you delete the record or remove the app. Information synchronized through iCloud is retained and managed through Apple's services and your Apple Account. Exported information stays wherever you saved or sent it.

Deleting something in one place does not delete copies you previously exported or shared.

Security

The apps use Apple platform storage, application sandboxing, and private CloudKit services. Biometric and passcode authentication is handled entirely by Apple.

No storage or transmission system can guarantee absolute security. Protect your devices with a strong passcode, secure your Apple Account, and share minor-related records only with people you trust.

External websites and services

The apps link to Service Oklahoma, NHTSA, driver-education providers, and other external resources. Opening a link leaves the Watchman app, and the destination controls its own information practices. SparkCrest Digital is not responsible for third-party content or privacy practices.

Independence

Watchman apps are independent educational and progress-tracking tools. They are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Service Oklahoma, the State of Oklahoma, AAA, or any other driver-education provider.

Provider and government names are used only to identify relevant courses, requirements, or external resources.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when app features, legal requirements, or information-handling practices change. The revised version will carry a new "Last updated" date, and material changes will also be noted in the app's release notes.
